5 Ways for Service Providers to Make Sales (Without Launching, Selling, or Losing Your Mind)

Look, I get it. Selling isn’t always the walk in the park that others make it out to be. I’ve tried using the launch approaches that others tout and while they work, traditional launching drains me. You know what exhausts me? Reposting about my services over and over and over again on social media. Can you relate?

It wasn’t until my coach, Alyssa Hammond, asked me this seemingly simple question that changed everything: “What would feel like a fun way to get new work or clients?”

In that moment I realized there was another way. Once the question had been posed, the floodgates opened and I realized there was so many ways to generate revenue easily without the hassle of following other people’s launch strategies and sales techniques.

If you’ve ever felt like the one-size-fits-all launch strategies and sales techniques you were sold aren’t serving you, you’re not alone. The good news is, I have a few options for you to try on for size instead.

5 ways for Services Providers to Generate Revenue Without Launching, Selling, or Losing Your Mind

1. Get in more networking spaces & communities

Do you love meeting other entrepreneurs and connecting with people? Getting into more networking communities will help you find new connections who might need your services. Now don’t go into these events and start trying to sell everyone on your offers. Instead, make genuine connections and friendships with those you meet. If they end up really enjoying your conversation and personality, they’ll be more likely to consider working with you or referring you to others.

2. Send out birthday gifts or cards to past clients

This is a great way to reconnect with past clients and show your appreciation for the work you did together! Once you open this line of communication again, they might realize they need your help again. If you have a referral program, this might be a good time to remind them of it! Speaking of which…

3. Create a referral program & promote it

If it feels aligned, consider creating a referral program and giving those who refer new clients to you a small kickback. You can offer a percentage of the offer booked, a flat fee, or a gift that feels fitting for your brand. Once you’ve created the outline of your referral program (can be as simple as an email template or PDF attachment), send the details to past clients and trusted entrepreneur friends.

4. Reach out others about doing a presentation or guest coaching session to their community

Group coaching programs and group courses are all the rage. Reach out to coaches and educators who are facilitating group programs in a tangential area to your services and offer to do a guest coaching or training for their community. For example, if there was a group coaching program around scaling your business, I might reach out to them to see if they wanted me to do a training on Human-Centered Habits or creating Grounded Goals. At the end of your presentation, you always have the option of providing a special offer to those in that community as well.

Speaking of which, are you looking for someone to come into your group to talk about Prioritizing Joy as an Entrepreneur, Creating Grounded Goals or DIYing Your Branding? I love public speaking and I’d love to chat to your group!

5. Do an IG Live with past clients

Doing an Instagram Live with past clients is a great way to create easy content, give potential clients who follow you a better idea of what it’s like to work with you, and gets you in front of new audiences!
