Though my initial weekend plans didn’t quite go as expected, I had an absolutely amazing time welcoming the official start of autumn. Just as every other week, a group of us gathered for an evening of fun and fish fry goodness.

On Saturday, my folks decided to visit, and we had an amazing time at the cutest little apple festival. We happily stuffed our faces with apple pie, apple crisp, and caramel apples. We then proceeded to wash down all those delicious treats with warm apple cider as the cool autumn winds rolled in.

After walking around the festival and looking at the many craft and art booths, we headed to Cafe Hollander for a pint and a bite to eat. It’s always fun to catch up with my parents, and it’s even better over a wonderful hot meal!

Sunday was a day full of some much needed rest and relaxation. When dinner time rolled around, however, Aaron and I headed off to Maxie’s for some delicious Southern food. I also was fortunate enough to be sitting in a position where I could oogle over that beautiful handlettered screen print shown above. How awesome is that?

All in all, it was a great weekend, but now it’s time to hunker down and hustle!
